GSE79380: Integrated epigenetic analysis infers the dynamics of cellular differentiation in the developing mouse hippocampus [RNA-seq]

- Target gene
- Project ARCHS4
Hippocampus is a cortical structure acting as the main crossroad of memory and emotions. Here, we have used RNA sequencing and ChIP sequencing to study the epigenetic changes associated with hippocampus neonatal development, disclosing the transcriptional programs that govern its main functional, behavioral and sensory changes. We isolated the pathways that could mediate adult hippocampal neurogenesis, determining the putative molecular basis of its involvement in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders. We exploited single cell data of adult mice to deconvolute and interpret the developmental complexity of the hippocampus into its individual cell-types, defining the roles of individual cell classes in postnatal synaptogenesis. Our integrated analysis inferred the differentiation dynamics and putative differentiation drivers for each of the 10 major hippocampal cell types. Deciphering the molecular codes ruling the development of hippocampus is the key to ultimately understand its pathophysiology.
