About the Role

Pluto Bio is a pioneering, mission-driven SaaS company revolutionizing biological data interpretation in translational discovery. Our multi-omics platform empowers researchers to accelerate breakthroughs in life sciences by transforming complex data into actionable insights. We pride ourselves on our collaborative culture, technical innovation, and commitment to making a tangible impact on scientific research. At Pluto, we operate at the intersection of: * Software engineering * Biology and bioinformatics * Beautiful, user-centered product design We believe in building tools that scientists love using—and we’re looking for a charismatic, technically-savvy teammate who’s just as excited about helping researchers succeed as we are.

At Pluto, we take pride in our technical innovation and outstanding execution at the intersection of:

  • Software engineering
  • Biology and bioinformatics
  • User-centered experience and approach

At our core, Pluto is mission-focused and committed to crafting intuitive experiences from the very first day a client onboards, into long-lasting partnerships that deliver increasing value to a client each year.

Overview

As a Bioinformatics Solutions Engineer, you'll be the technical ambassador for Pluto Bio. You'll work directly with prospective and current customers to help them understand, evaluate, and adopt our platform—while building authentic, trusted relationships along the way. You’ll partner closely with sales, product, and customer success teams to make sure our users feel supported from the first demo to long after they’re onboarded.

A demonstrable working proficiency in biology or bioinformatics is required for this role, as you will be engaging deeply with researchers and scientific teams, each tackling unique problems in drug discovery. Pluto’s primary end users are scientists, typically with limited or no coding experience, so you must excel at being able to communicate biological data analysis to a biologist audience. If interacting with clients’ technical / bioinformatics / data science teams, you need to be able to articulate the high-level scientific goals and effectively pair with an SME at Pluto to manage and meet any requirements for integrating with client’s workflows. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys translating complex technical ideas into real-world solutions, has a deep appreciation for scientific research, and genuinely loves connecting with people—especially other scientists.

As an early-stage startup, we believe the most important part of our company is our people. Every new team member helps shape our culture, and in this role, you'll have a direct hand in defining the standards we hold ourselves to—inside the company and with every customer we work with.
